who will be next World Bank President What will they do

UPDATE:Will the crisis be over before G8 FM meeting? This is what Germany is asking for? According to the Financial Times, Germany "wants the matter settled before the Group of Eight finance ministers meeting on Friday in Potsdam, which Mr Wolfowitz is scheduled to attend."However quite a few scenarios come into play:

1. The Panel is submitting its final report to the full Board tomorrow and, based on the response(s) given by Wolfowitz on Friday, we don't know whether the initial finding that he breached the ethics rules still stands.
"The report is expected to ask the board, in effect, to consider whether Mr Wolfowitz can continue to be effective in his job in the light of its findings."
2. Will the WH go along with the Board's ruling or "will the administration play for time, in a bid both to slow momentum for the bank president’s removal and to open up alternatives."
3. or will the WH play tough because Junior President wants his Wolfie to stick around and "the administration will repeat the tactic it used to get Mr Wolfowitz appointed to the bank in 2005 – going over the heads of hostile board members and development ministries to finance ministry, foreign ministry and head of government level."

FT concludes that "the belief is firming that only the clear threat of a vote against Mr Wolfowitz this week will enable voices within the administration to persuade Mr Bush that Mr Wolfowitz must go"
UPDATE:May 14, 7:30 EST
According to the International Herald Tribune, notes and testimony provided by the VP of HR have weakened Wolfowitz's defense and have become central to the charges Wolfowitz is fighting.
"One of the bank officials who spoke Sunday said that one document appeared to suggest that Coll had told Melkert and Daniño that he was told by Wolfowitz not to tell them about the details of the compensation package for Riza."
In addition,Riza and her lawyers also want this crisis to be over as soon as possible and are putting "pressure" on Wolfowitz.

So it may be "Sayonara" for the president tomorrow after his presentation to the Board unless Cheney (via the WH) and Rove pull another trick to coerce some EDs to keep their boy in his seat.
Asked during an interview in Jordan whether Wolfowitz should remain, Cheney told Fox News television: "I do".

"I think Paul is one of the most faithful public servants I've ever known -- I've worked with him a lot over the years -- I think he's a very good president of the World Bank and I hope he will be able to continue," said Cheney, who was wrapping up a week-long visit to the Middle East.
